Guiyang Getting Reputation for the Best Place in Summer

The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province, has been declared a best summer tourism city at a summer tourism industry conference in the city of Kunming, Yunnan province, on Sept 24, where the participants exchanged tourism ideas and new types of tourism.

Thanks to its subtropical, humid climate, and average temperatures of 15.3 C, and the hottest summer temperature of 24 C, Guiyang, was called "the summer capital of China" by the China Meterological Society back in 2007.

Experts that, compared with cities in the same longitude around the world that are thought to be good for summer tourism, Guiyang wins in coolness and pleasant environment.

The municipal government has done a lot for nine years to make it the first choice for tourism and cultural events and it is now recognized abroad. In the evaluation of 18 Chinese cities, Guiyang joined Yantai, Shangdong province, and Kunming, as a "best summer tourism city".

The report on China's summer tourism was based on a survey of 70 cities evaluated for their climate, comfort, sightseeing and services, and has come out now every year for 3 years.
