Lugu Lake Airport Put into Use, Linking with Kunming
The Lugu Lake airport is put into use on 12 October with the one-hour maiden flight made from Kunming.
The elevation of the airport is 3,293 metres and is so far the highest airport in Yunnan Province. The Lugu Lake is situated in Ninglang County of Lijiang City in the northwest of Yunnan Province; it is known for the mysterious culture of the Mosuo people and the captivating landscapes. Normally, visitors access the Lugu Lake by driving from Lijiang (270 km), so the opening of the airport has offered another choice for accessing the Lake directly from Kunming.
