Art exhibition opens in Lijiang's Huaping county

An art exhibition organized by Huaping county’s publicity department opened in Lijiang Museum from Nov 1-20, Yunnan.net reported. Altogether 91 art works will depict the daily lives of local residents in Huaping county.

In April, more than 30 of Yunnan’s local artists strolled around Huaping county and recorded the beautiful scenery.

Among the beautiful places in Huaping, the Guanyinyan hydroelectric power station is one of Huaping’s key construction projects. When artists arrived at the station, they were shocked by the huge construction project. They immediately took out their brushes and drew pictures of the station. It was a hot day and the temperature was about 38 C. The artists spent around four to five hours outdoors.

According to Wang Huayong, deputy director of Huaping’s literary federation, the artists observed and recorded Huaping’s scenery through their own lens.

“The activity of inviting local artists to Huaping to record the scenery here with their brushes started in April. Altogether more than 70 of Yunnan’s local artists will join these activities and come to Huaping county in three batches,” said Ma Xiang, director of Huaping’s publicity department.
