Cultural Industry Expo Heading for Kunming in August

Kunming is confirmed to host the Yunnan Cultural Industry Expo from Aug 11 to 15, the Yunnan Provincial Cultural Industry Office announced on May 5.

The expo will be held under the slogan “culture creates fortune, innovation increases value.” It is aimed at promoting Yunnan’s image and cultural industry with local characteristics.

Seven indoor exhibition halls will be set up to allow nationwide exhibitors to display products. A hall showcasing exhibiting items from South Asian and Southeast Asian countries will be set up for the first time. Cloth products, such as embroideries and costumes of varying ethnic groups will be one of the event’s major highlights.

A series of activities are planned for the duration of the expo, including a clothing design contest, embroidery contest and an Internet Plus-themed activity.
