Tourists in Kunming to Feel the Ocean

Yunnan is to dedicate the artificial ocean of the Shilin Ice-snow and Ocean Theme Amusement Park in Shilin scenic spot, Kunming city to the locals who yearn for life in the maritime provinces in mid-to-late June.

 The theme park is in the “golden district” of Shilin scenery, only five minutes from the Stone Forest of limestone in Shilin Yi Autonomous county, Yunnan province and ten from downtown Shilin.

The ocean project comprises a bewildering number of selling points such as the white whale theater, the primitive sea, the coral kingdom and the subsea tunnel.

Qian Lei, the marketing vice president of the theme park, said that it will enrich the tourism resources of Yunnan Province. He added that the steady large number of visitors, the convenient transportation, the abundant enchanting views in the Stone Forest Scenic area and the support of the national, provincial and municipal governments will all contribute to the success of the project.

Qian also noted that the investors have built a parking lot for over 1,000 motor vehicles. Authorities will release timely information about the park online and limit the tourists' number to 15 thousand per day, citing the danger of overcrowding.

The remaining parts of the project will be completed soon after the ocean world park begins operations, with 200 pioneering family hotel rooms in differing styles and the ice-themed site to be debuted respectively on New Year's Day and on May 2017.
