Yunnan-Taiwan Expo heading to Yunnan Province

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China and the Yunnan provincial government will hold the Fifth Yunnan-Taiwan Expo in Kunming, Qujing, Yuxi, Lijiang and Dehong, Yunnan Province June 10-14.

According to the press conference of the expo, over 1,200 government officials, entrepreneurs, experts and scholars from Taiwan and Yunnan will partake in the activities, including the opening ceremony, two exhibitions, eight matchmaking symposiums for culture and tourism industry cooperation and ten interchange activities entitled "Taiwan Compatriots Approach Yunnan". It's anticipated that 40 contracts will be signed, totaling U.S. $18.26b.

By the end of last year, there were 565 Taiwan-owned enterprises in Yunnan, with actual utilized investment reaching U.S. $ 580m.
