Kunming, Lijiang and Lincang Listed into Top Summer Resort Cities
The "12th (2015) Lists of Top China and World's Summer Resort Cities" was released recently, which includes five "top lists", namely: the 2015 World's Top 100 Summer Resort Cities, the 2015 China's Top 65 Summer Resort Cities, the 2015 China's Top 100 Summer Resort & Leisure Counties, the 2015 China's Top 100 Summer Resort Mountains, and the 2015 China's Top 100 Summer Resort Towns.
The assessing organisations for the event include Asia-Pacific Environment Protection Association (APEPA), China Institute of City Competitiveness (CICC), International Cultural Geography Association (ICGA), China Public Praise Centre (CPPC), and Hong Kong Institute of Climate and Tourism etc.
The 2015 World's Top 100 Summer Resort Cities
Based on the recent public praise, popularity and historical climatic data of tourist cities around the world, the Top 100 Cities are considered with the conditions as below:
(1)-The feature of high richness of tourist resources;
(2)-The high comfortability;
(3)-The high degree of openness of international tourism;
(4)-The superb convenience of lodging;
(5)-The excellent service environment;
(6)-The high popularity of destinations, and
(7)-The high praise of tourists and travellers.
Among the 100 Cities, the top ten are (in order):

(2)-Helsinki (Finland)
(3)-Kunming (China)
(4)-Amsterdam (Holland)
(5)-Saint Petersburg (Russia)
(6)-Vancouver (Canada)
(7)-Copenhagen (Denmark)
(8)-Bergen (Norway)
(9)-Guiyang (China)
(10)-Cape Town (South Africa)
The 2015 China's Top 65 Summer Resort Cities
Due to the rapid development of China's economy and comparing to the year of 2014, the event has incorporated more 15 cities of prefectural level and above. The Top 65 Cities are considered with the conditions as below:
(1)-The endowment of characteristic human and ecological tourism resources
(2)-The comparative advantage of historical data of climate, ultraviolet, air humidity and quality, and the amount of negative oxygen ion. The data covers the time span from May to August, and July is the emphatical statistical month.
(3)-The high vegetation coverage; and little/negligible impact of haze, dust and extreme hot weather.
(4)-The good/bettering quality of water systems.
(5)-The obvious results of tourism branding, infrastructure construction and service system; and the great efforts for the planning and development of summer resorts.
(6)-The well preserved eco environment, bio diversity, and natural and cultural heritages.
(7)-The low-carbon concept of tourism consumption.
(8)-The tourists' good praise for the comfortability of summer resort cities.
