- When the city of Lijiang, Yunnan province held its 2015 China RV Festival in the Central Plaza, April 30 - May 3, it pulled in more than 50 auto dealers, real estate agencies, and auto parts manufacturers to the event's 6,000-square-meter exhibition area.

- The Yunnan Nationalities Museum in Kunming opened its purple pottery exhibition on April 26, with around 200 items on display. Purple pottery is native to Jianshui county in Yunnan province and received its name because of its color. The pottery became an intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
- Yunnan province plans to increase its output value of woody vegoil plants to 100 billion yuan ($16.13 billion) by 2020, to transform vegetable oil into the province's emerging pillar industry.
- Kunming’s Ethnic Village plans to put on an Ethnic Costumes Festival from May 1 to 3. The festival will invite visitors to dress in a variety of ethnic costumes to display the depth and breadth of Chinese ethnic culture.
- Yunnan province produced 398,000 tons of edible fungi in 2014, among which 80,000 tons were grown in the wild, accounting for 70 percent of the total number of wild mushrooms harvested in China, according to the Yunnan Provincial Agriculture Bureau.

- The Kunming Master Chefs cooking contest, in which culinary skills by leading chefs were put into strict tests, has announced its winner. The team from the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone won the competition, which was held in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province.
