- The direct international air route between Kunming and Thailand's Koh Samui Island is to be launched on 12 August, according to Yunnan Lucky Air.
- Consulate General of Australia (in Chengdu) delegation visited Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Commission (YNTDC), 30 July, Kunming. Ms Wen Shuqiong, vice director of the YNTDC, met Consul General Ms Nancy Gordon.
- Yunnan Caoshan Mt, or Grass Mountain, has been upgraded into a national 4A-level scenic attraction of China recently. Other tourist draws upgraded include the Yuanyang Hani Terraced Paddies which is now a world cultural heritage site in South Yunnan.
- The 2nd Yunnan aviation tourism market promotion event was held on 17 April in Wenshan city in the southeast of Yunnan province. Cosponsors include the People's Government of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, and Yunnan Airport Group...
- China Eastern Airlines is to open the Beijing-Dali direct flight (Mu9747/8) from 31 July, shortening about three hours of the journey.
- The list of Top 100 China Summer-resort Towns of 2014 has been released recently. Heijing Ancient Town and Yi People's Ancient Town of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture are included.
- Taiwan carrier Mandarin Airlines of China Airlines Group opened the direct flight from Kaohsiung to Lijiang on 3 July, symbolizing Taiwan and Lijiang have been linked by daily flights.
